VISA TYPE PURPOSE OF THE TRIP/STAY GENERAL INFORMATION AND APPLICATION FORMS REQUIREMENTSSHORT-TERM VISA Issued to SEAMEN & TECHNICIANS hired by companies operating in the oil sector Validity: 7 days upon issuance.

Administrative fee: EUR 90,00 to be paid in advance by bank wire, for instructions click here or in cash if application is delivered personally.
Time for processing the application: 48-72 hours
The Short-Term Visa does not allow its holder to establish residence nor to engage any type of paid professional activity.

- 1 completed application form.
- 1 recent colour passport size photographs, not older than 6 months.
- Letter from employer or agent, in English or Portuguese, requesting the issuance of STV, listing name of applicant, passport number and validity and term of liability, and including liability term for expenses during stay and repatriation
- Passport with validity of at least 6 months.
- Copy of the main page of the passport (with holder’s picture and personal data), as well as all the pages showing visas. Passport must have a validity of at least 6 months
- Copy of the Seamen's Book (first page with number and main page with personal data)
- Copy of the International Vaccination Certificate: main page with holder's name and page containing vaccination against yellow fever
- Proof/Certificate of residence in Austria (“Meldezettel”) , Croatia (“Uvjerenje o prebivalištu) or Slovenia (“Potrdilo o stalnem prebivališču”). Documents issued in Croatia and Slovenia must have attached its official translation into Portuguese (authentication of Ministry of Foreign Affairs NOT required!)
- Invitation letter from company operating in the oil sector, detailing purpose of the trip, duties of the applicant, period of stay in Angola, as well as personal data of applicant (name, nationality, passport number, validity, term of liability for expenses during stay and repatriation). The invitation letter must be certified by the Angolan Ministry of Oil (Gabinete dos Recursos Humanos - Ministério dos Petróleos). The seal of the Ministry must be legible.

Send documents listed above by regular mail, courier or e-mail. Print each page of forms or documents separately on single pages, do not print on both sides of the paper.

If applying by e-mail, documents must be scanned in high resolution and colour, and be saved in JPEG format.

When scanning passport pages, please select the exact area of the passport page.
Passport pages must be scanned in their original size.
Once the issuance of the STV is authorized, applicant will be informed by e-mail.
Do not purchase a flight ticket until receiving from the Embassy the confirmation of the date for issuance of the visa.
Outward flights to Angola from Vienna must be booked for after 17:00hs.
DELIVERY OF PASSPORT FOR ISSUANCE OF THE VISA:
Passport can be delivered together with application or delivered personally to the Embassy on the date of issuance of the visa(see below).
SENDING THE PASSPORT
The passport must be at the Embassy at least 10 working days prior to the scheduled flight to Angola. Once the visa is issued, applicant is requested to arrange for collection of the passport (DHL, FedEx, TNT). We suggest applicant to send the passport before purchasing a flight to Angola. The passport is to be sent to the Embassy together with 1 original application form and the original certificate of residence and its official translation into Portuguese (if not yet submitted).

A copy of the flight itinerary must be submitted before your departure to Angola.PASSPORT SUBMITTED PERSONALLY BY APPLICANT OR THIRD PARTY
It is necessary to set an appointment. On the date agreed, applicant should be at the Embassy between 10:00 and 11:00 hs. for submission of passport, 1 original application form and the original certificate of residence and its official translation into Portuguese (if not yet submitted). Visa will be ready at 2:30 The visa fee in the amount of € 90,00 can be paid in cash. In the case you choose this modality, the next available appointments are on 27 June and 5,6 or 7 June 2011 and submit a copy of flight itinerary.
ISSUANCE OF THE VISA AND COLLECTION OF THE PASSPORT
It is the responsibility of the applicant to arrange the collection of the passport, as well as the respective costs.
