SHORT TERM VISAS

FOR SEAMEN & TECHNICIANS HIRED IN THE OIL SECTOR

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All documents in foreign languages must be translated into Portuguese (excepted are Passport, International Health Certificate, flight and hotel reservation) and previously authenticated by the local authorities (in Austria: Provincial Tribunals "Landesgerichte" and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Legalisierungsbüro; in Croatia and Slovenia: Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Please request an ordinary authentication, no Apostille. Thereafter, documents must be authenticated by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Angola in Austria (for information: please click here).

REQUIREMENTS
SHORT-TERM VISA Issued to SEAMEN & TECHNICIANS hired by companies in the oil sector

 

Validity: 72 hours upon issuance.

Number of entries: 1

Length of authorized stay: 7 days.

Extension of stay (visa renewal): 1 for the same period of time

Administrative fee: EUR 90,00 (to be paid on the collection of the visa)

Time for processing the application: 48 hours

The Short-Term Visa does not allow its holder to establish residence nor to engage any type of paid professional activity.

- 3 completed application forms

- 3 recent colour passport size photographs, not older than 6 months.

- Copies of the main pages of the passport, as well as all the pages showing visas. Passport must have a validity of at least 6 months.

-Copy of the Seamen's Book (first page with number and main page with personal data)

- Copy of the International Vaccination Certificate, including vaccination against yellow fever

- Proof of residence in Austria, Croatia or Slovenia with its official translation into Portuguese (authentication not required!)

- Invitation letters from company operating in the oil sector, detailing purpose of the trip, duties of the applicant, period of stay in Angola, as well as personal data of applicant (name, nationality, passport number, validity, term of responsability for repatriation). The invitation letter must be certified by the Angolan Ministry of Oil (Gabinete dos Recursos Humanos - Ministério dos Petróleos).

- To be submited upon authorization for issuance of the visa: copy of flight itinerary.

HOW TO APPLY:

Submit all documents listed above in original or by e-mail (picture in JPEG format). The picture sent electronically must be the same used in the application.

Please allow 48 hours for processing the application.

Do not book any flight before receiving written confirmation from the Embassy that visa can be issued. Applicant will be informed on available appointments for the issuance of the visa. Upon choosing a date, applicant must submit the flight itinerary and appointment will be reconfirmed.

Please note that due to the 72 hs. validity of the visa, it must be issued on the same date of flight to Angola, which means that applicant must travel to Vienna, be at the Embassy between 10 and 11:00 hs. for submission of passport and original applications (if previously sent by e-mail or fax). The visa fee in the amount of € 90,00 can be paid in cash. Flight from Vienna to Angola must be booked for late afternoon, after 17:00. Visa will be ready at 14:30 hs.
